Investigators with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Homeland Security and Intelligence Section and school resource officers are working to probe a threat that was distributed among the student body on Wednesday, March 23.
According to the sheriff’s office, the message indicated that a bomb would be detonated at all Charles County Schools on Friday, March 24, and students immediately reported the threat to administrators.
The preliminary investigation shows that the sender’s source is unknown; however, the sheriff’s office learned that other schools throughout the nation have been receiving similar messages about bomb threats, continuing an alarming nationwide trend.
